Orb Design




1. Create a new document with 1000 * 1000 px dimension.
2. Go to filter -> render -> lens flare. select 50-300mm zoom and keep it at its default position and 100% brightness.
3. Again go to filter -> distort -> polar coordinates . check polar to rectangular and reduce the zoom to 25%.
4. Go to edit -> transform -> flip vertical .
5. Go to filter -> distort -> polar coordinates. check rectangular to polar and zoom to 25%.
6. Select the magic wand tool and click anywhere outside the orb to make a selection. press ctrl -shift-I to invert the selection.
7. Press ctrl-j to make a copy of the orb and place it on its own layer.
8. Create a new layer and fill it with black.
9. Go to filter -> render -> lens flare. select 105mm prime.
10.Repeat steps 3-5. Select circular marquee tool and go to upper left corner of the casvas , press shift and drag the cursor to the opposite corner and release.
11.Press ctrl-j to cut the orb and place it on its own layer.
12.Drag layer 1 (copy made by ctrl-j) to top and decrease its opacity to 30%.
13.press ctrl-t to select transform tool and drag a corner in so that the red orb is within the translucent orb.
14.Hide the layers 0,2 and create a new layer below the cut out orbs and fill it with black.
15.Widen the background by selecting image -> canvas size. Change inches to percent in width and change width to 150.
16.Press alt-delete to fill the background with black.
