Logo Design 3 - Glossy Logo 2



1. Create a new document with 400*400 as pixel dimensions.
2. Select paint bucket tool from the tool menu and select black color as the foreground color . Click on the background so that the color of the background changes to black.
3. Now select gray color as the new foreground color and click on the gradient tool. Select radio gradient and then drag the gradient from the center of the canvas to outside the edges to configure the gradient.
4.Select ellipse tool from the tool menu and select red color from the color palette and draw a circle on the canvas . Use the move tool to re-position it in the center. Rasterize it selecting the rasterize option
5. Right click on the ellipse layer to select blending modes:-
   a. Stroke( size -8 , position - inside , fill type - gradient , fill color - bright red , click reverse check box    
       next to the gradient , Style - reflected , angle -90 , scale - 150% ).
   b. Gradient overlay( Blend mode - soft light , click on reverse check box , style - reflected , scale - 150).
   c. Bevel and Emboss( style - pillow emboss, technical - smooth, depth -1000% ,direction - up, size -5 ,
      soften -1 , Gloss contour - ring , highlight mode - screen ,opacity - 50 , shadow mode opacity - 100)
      c1. Contour - elements (contour - Gaussian ) .
   d. Inner Shadow ( distance - 0 , choke - 20 , size - 30 , contour - half round).
   e. Drop Shadow ( distance- 0 , spread - 35 , size - 35 ) .
6. Select the text tool with foreground color black and type the text and position it in center of the logo.
7. Copy the layer styles of the ellipse layer to the text layer and make few changes like changing Stroke          
    ( size -4 ) and remove gradient overlay.
8. Create a mask to text layer by holding down alt and clicking in between the text and ellipse layer. It will
     result in making the text layer lighter.
9. Create a new layer and create a mask by holding alt and click between the two layers.
10. Select elliptical marquee tool and drag a circle to half of the logo starting from bottom left and select
     inverse option from the Select tab on the top.
11. Change the gradient to linear and foreground color to white.
12. Drag the gradient on the logo while holding down shift key.
13. Change blend mode of the layer to overlay .
14. You can also change hue of the logo by selecting hue and saturation layer from the adjustments.
